| I would love to make over 100,000 grand a year for a part time job. Our teachers work 182 days per year. In the middle school, they have been teaching the same lessons for years(so much for prep time) Most people I know take work home (there goes that argument). Enough is enough. I want accountability, no tenure. You keep your job based on performance. | | |

| absolutely...These teachers (also the diisgusting GREEDY UNIONS ) have more than ALOT of nerve. They earn well over $100,000 (also like the Police) and an additional $25,000plus in benefits (medical & Pensions). The people of these districts MUST show up and VOTE NO to the school budget in 2010. People have taken cuts in pay, have lost their jobs and are working 2 and 3 jobs to do what...pay for these teachers and police.. Its time to WAKE UP and Speak up!!Great Info here.. I am in the Massapequa School district my property taxes are OVER $22,000 per year...0ver $16,000 SCHOOL Twith AXES...and I have NEVER used the school...insane my firends..Do we all need to vote with our feet and MOVE OFF Long Island? | | | |

| Teachers in Plainview are in the middle of contract negotiations. They are protesting the lack of contract and dissatisfaction with the Board of Ed's offer by not hanging up students' work, not decorating classrooms and hallways, not allowing class parents to parties, wearing black and Contract Now buttons (even in class photos!), informational picketing every day at every school before school starts, delaying college recommendation letters. Parents are attending Board of Ed meetings to express their concerns about what is going on.
There is a blog it: http://averyplainview.blogspot.com/
