School District Payroll Data Notes
Payroll data in the "Schools" category is broken down into two categories, which can be separately searched under the "Subagency" tab:
* Professional elementary, secondary and post-secondary teachers and administrators, who belong to the New York State Teachers Retirement System (NYSTRS). NYSTRS data include all educational professionals employed during the school year ending June 30.
* Non-Professional employees--such as bus drivers, janitors and clerical support workers--who belong to the separate New York State Employee Retirement System, (NYSERS). The NYSERS data is collected for the state fiscal year ending March 30.
Neither of the retirement systems collects information on job titles and responsibilities.
School data available as of February 23, 2010 includes:
- 2009 NYSTRS Payroll
(July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009)
- 2008 NYSTRS Payroll (July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008)
- 2009 NYSERS Payroll (April 1, 2008 through March 30, 2009)
Other Notes:
(1) Central Islip UFSD, East ISlip UFSD, Nyack UFSD and Syracuse CSD 2008 data was provided by the individual school districts and is for the school year ending June 30, 2008
